Tab-Tote Closed

Whether we're talking about headaches and Migraines or other conditions, if you ask why people don't take their medications correctly, many of the reasons boil down to issues of convenience and organization. Here's an organizer and dispenser that lets you handle all those different bottles just once a month. Talk about easy!

What is the TabTote Classic?

The TabTote Classic is a medications organizing and dispensing system. That sounds rather complicated, but it's simplicity is actually one of the TabTote's strongest features. The TabTote has 32 compartments, 16 on each side, so you can load it with the medications you need for 30 days. The manufacturer says each compartment will hold a 30 tablet-capsule mix, the equivalentof 64 aspirin-sized tablets. Once filled, the covers lock securely in place. The TabTote then stores easily and compactly, either flat or upright.

Filling the TabTote

The TabTote allows you to handle your various medication bottles just once every 30 days, then put them away. For people who take several medications daily, this can eliminate the temptation to quickly take only part of their medications. I actually was skeptical about the number of tablets and/or capsules the manufacturer said this product would hold in each section. In the end, I was easly able to fit all of my daily medications and some of my supplements into each compartment. In each section, I was able to place:
  • 8 medium capsules
  • 5 large capsules
  • 1 small capsule
  • 2 large tablets
  • 4 medium tablets
  • 10 small tablets
  • 2 large softgels
  • 3 small softgels
That's an amazing total of 35 tablets, capsules, and softgels. I need to take some medications at noon and some before I go to bed. All the meds can be put into one section, then sorted out when it's time to take them. Another option is to fill the TabTote with two weeks of medications with noon medications in half the sections and night medications in the others. One other option is to buy a second TabTote and use one for noon and one for night doses. That would also provide enough room for the rest of my supplements. All reasonable options.

Uses for the TabTote

  • One person can load it with multiple medications for a 30-day period
  • Two people can load it with multiple medications, either together for a 30-day period, or with one person using each side of the TabTote.
  • The dark, but see-through cover make it possible to see at a glance if medications have been taken.
  • The TabTote is a great health care tool for a family member or other caretaker to manage the medications of someone in their care.
  • For people who have problems rememering to take their medications or if they've taken them, the TabTote makes medication compliance easier and more likely.

Summary

If you take multiple medications every day, the TabTote can simplify your routine and make it easier to take your medications correctly and consistently. Why handle half a dozen or more bottles every day when you can handle them once a month, then simply get your medications from the TabTote each day? I'd never found a medications organizer that would hold all of my current medicaitons, let alone all of my medications and some of my supplements. Making it easier to take medications makes it more likely that they'll be taken correctly, and that's integral to good health care.
