Question: Loud pulsatile noise both ears day before Migraine?
Answer:
Full Question:
I have migraines forever. They were well under
control until something weird happen in Dec. 04. I usually don't have an aura,
that time, the day before I had loud pulsatile noise both ears. I had MRI with
dye. Neg. for vascular problems and normal for the rest. The noise, like a
swishing or more like cicadas or crickets on a hot summer day is with me 24/7
Louder when a migraine is on it's way and worst the day of the migraine. The
quality of the pain did not change. The ENT said; the blood vessels must have
bulge and come closer to my ear drums. Is something like that common? And what
is the prognostic ?. Now that I know that in my head things are normal. I am not
as scared as I was before but the constant noise with my pulsation is bothering
me a lot and I can not sleep much. So I am very tired 24/7. I use relaxation
techniques to get to sleep and sometimes during the day to catch up for my lack
of sleep. Thank you for reading me. Hoping to have some answer to this problem.

Answer:
Dear Mariep;
You have several questions within your overall question. Ear noises aren't uncommon, as you describe them. Not a very common symptom that accompanies migraines or headaches. Can't speak to any prognosis issues. My suggestion is to find a headache specialist who is sensitive to poor sleep issues and treat those aggressively.
Good luck,
