Question: Transitional Migraines?
Answer:
Full Question:
I was diagnosed with migraines when I was five years old and took Elavil and Inderal until high school. I am now 32 (and female) and my headaches have changed. I have heard of "transitional migraines" and wondered if there is such a thing. These new headaches are much more frequent and severe. Thank you, J. Hughes.
Answer:
Dear J. Hughes;
I don't know how the term "transitional" was used in your setting, but many Migraines change their severity, intensity, location and qualities as time goes on. I guess my preference would be not to call such things "transitional". You may have lifelong Migraine attacks like many Migraineurs. More frequent and more severe would indicate the need to see your doctor to work on effective prevention.
Good luck,
