Question: Myosfacial release as a Migraine preventive?

Answer:

Full Question:

Can you give me information about myofascial release as a preventative treatment for migraines? My son, age 15, has many headaches and has been diagnosed with migraines by a neurologist. Thanks, J. Root

Answer:

Dear J. Root;

There is positive data on massage therapies of various sorts helping headaches and migraines. As far as preventing them, it certainly fits in the lifestyle alteration menu of things that can be helpful. I wish someone would study it in a double-blind manner, but this is very difficult to do.

Good luck,
John Claude Krusz
