Question: upper thoracic scoliosis can cause migraines that begin with stiffness in neck?

Answer:

Full Question:

Somewhere I read that upper thoracic scoliosis can cause migraines that begin with stiffness in neck and travel up one side of the head. Have you heard of this?

Answer:

Dear Katherine:

Cause, no. Trigger, absolutely. Any disequilibrium of spinal structures can contribute to Migraines in a given individual; I'd expect the headache to begin at the base of the neck or between the shoulder blades.

Good luck,
John Claude Krusz
