Question: 16-year-old with first Migraine... Do people ever get one or will there be more?

Answer:

Full Question:
I am a 16 year old boy, who does lots of sport and eats well. The other day I suffered from what I thought was a headache but now turns out to have been a migraine - the flashing in the corner of my eye, the very concentrated pain, etc. I was wondering do people ever get one migraine or once you have one, does that always mean more are on the way? thanks, Don

Answer:
Dear 16-year-old,

There really isn't a definite answer to your question. Migraine is a neurological disease. At this time, there's no known cure. Some Migraineurs experience only a few Migraines in their entire lives, others experience them quite frequently. It varies from person to person, and nobody can really predict how it will go for you.

Good luck,
Teri Robert and John Claude Krusz
