Question: Imitrex side effects... went away later... still call doctor?

Answer:

Dear Devorah:

Yes, even though the side effects from the Imitrex went away, you should still discuss the event with your doctor. Depending on the severity and duration, he may tell you it's fine to continue with Imitrex. However, he may recommend that you try some of the other triptans instead. There are now seven in the triptan family. Here's some information:

    In 1992, the FDA approved the first of a class of medications that many Migraineurs call "miracle drugs." That drug was sumatriptan (Imitrex®, Imigran®), the first triptan. Here are both general information on triptans and detailed profiles of each.
