Question: Severe shooting pain after ejaculation, problems staying erect?

Answer:

Full Question:

Just recently, my husband has been having severe shooting pain from his left temple, across his eyes, usually starting just before ejaculation and going away a few minutes after. He is also having problems staying erect. What could this be? Concerned Wife.

Answer:

Dear Concerned Wife;

Your husband needs to see his doctor. It's impossible for us to diagnose via the Internet. His headaches could be what are called "coital headaches," and it's possible that his doctor could recommend something for him to take before intimacy to prevent them. See:

    Orgasm & Headaches/Migraine
    We've all heard the old joke, "Not tonight, dear. I have a headache." Right? Surprisingly enough, for some people, there definitely is a correlation between sexual activity and headache or migraine. Is that correlation good or bad?

The problem with maintaining erection is totally out of our field. If his regular doctor is unable to help, he should consult a urologist.

Good luck,
