Question: Fever as a Migraine trigger?
Answer:
Full Question:
Have you ever heard of fever as a migraine
trigger? I recall having a severe migraine immediately after having fever twice,
once recently and the other time was about 4 years ago. The fevers were caused
by different problems. I had assumed that these were rebound migraines because I
had taken a lot of fever reducers/analgesics the first time, but the most recent
time I only took two doses of Tylenol. I can't find any reference to fever as
migraine trigger anywhere on the internet. Brenda.
Answer:
Dear Brenda;
Like many other environmental and physiological triggers, fever can be a definite trigger of a headache or Migraine. The cause doesn't seem to matter.
Matter of fact, many Migraineurs have Migraines that are set off by heat or exercise, another way to increase your core temperature.
Good luck,
