Ask the Clinician

Question: Can sinus headache cause dizziness? pain over eyes, top of head... more?

Answer:

Dear Dizzy,

The answer to both of your questions is, "Yes."

Interestingly, studies are showing that the majority of headaches that people thought were sinus headaches have turned out to be Migraines:

Sinuses Giving You a Headache? It's Probably a Migraine.
If you've tried various over-the-counter sinus medications to relieve your sinus headaches to no avail, there may be a good reason: chances are you don't have a sinus headache at all. Nearly 9 in 10 people with sinus headache symptoms likely are suffering from Migraines.

You really do need to get to your doctor to find out if you're experiencing sinus headache, Migraine disease, or something else entirely.

Good luck,
John Claude
