Question: Headaches, Migraines, daily arthritis meds?
Answer:
Full Question:
I have suffered from almost daily headaches and
migraines. My symptoms are related to all types of headaches, cluster, sinus,
tension, migraines, and just good old fashioned headaches. My Dr. has prescribed
Maxalt and Zanaflex. I also must take daily pain meds (Vicodin, Advil, and
Ultram) due to severe arthritis, so rebound headaches are probably an issue. 3
months ago I was treated for a severe sinus infection which created severe
facial and ear pain. I have lost my sense of smell since this began and have not
regained it even though the infection is gone. Should I see an ENT or my regular
doctor about this?? When I mentioned to my other doctors they just give me a
weird look. HELP! God Bless, Cyndi-lou.
Answer:
Dear Cyndi-lou;
My strongest suggestion would be to seek out a headache and Migraine expert in you region. Sometimes, Advil can be substituted with much longer acting agents like Celebrex. If you need it, there's a link below to our directory of recommended specialists.
Good luck,
Teri Robert and John Claude Krusz
