Question: Son with Migraines... aura of bad taste and musousy mouth?

Answer:

Full Question:

My son has been getting bad headaches/migraines lately. Before the actual headache he seems to have an aura however it's not one I've read about. He gets a bad taste in his mouth and has to keep spitting. He also gets nauseous which I know is a common aura. Have you heard of the bad taste in the mouth or getting mucousy? Is this a possible aura or could something else be going on? He's been getting 2-4 a month now for the past 4-5 months. Thanks, Monica.

Answer:

Dear Monica;

The symptoms you describe could be aura, but you need to take your son to his doctor for confirmation. Also, with two-four Migraines a month, it's appropriate to discuss preventive measures with his doctor.

Good luck,
