Question: Headaches and feeling like rubber band snapping related to exertion?

Answer:

Full Question:

I am 50 years old, 6' tall and weight about 220lbs. Playing basketball last evening I felt a snapping in my head like a rubber band snapping (this is not the first time this has happened but under different circumstances) and shortly there after experienced some chest heaviness along with peptic stomach. This heaviness seem directly related to the amount of exertion expended playing the game. Eventually it went away with no headaches afterward. Do you have any idea as to what this might be? Oh I am a non-smoker/drinker. Also, I do experience headaches when the barometric pressure changes.

Answer:

Hello;

You have a couple of issues here that you need to discuss with a physician in person. Headaches that occur when the barometric pressure changes are often Migraines.

The other headaches you describe may be exertional headaches. You can read another answer about exertional headaches HERE.

Good luck,
