Question: Incredible urge to stretch just before Migraine hits?

Answer: Full Question:

I am 49 years old and going through menopause. I suffer from really bad migraine before and during my period. The attach usually starts during the night, I am asleep and I half wake up with an incredible urge to stretch my arm and legs, after that the pain starts. I cannot stop myself from doing it, I feel I need to stretch myself. I just wanted to know if this is something you have ever heard about before. Thanks, Moira.

Answer:

Dear Moira;

Yes, I have patients who have night-time movement disorders including cramping and twitching just before a Migraine gets them. It is not that uncommon. The trick is to have effective abortive treatment near the bedside.

Good luck,
Teri Robert and John Claude Krusz
