Question: Best brand or type of sunglasses?

I was wondering if you ever recommend a certain make or brand of lens of sun glasses that are dark enough to aid in keeping the brightness of the light especially the sun to a minimum. I have purchased numerous sun glasses to no avail so am hoping that you may have some suggestions. Your column is both important and informative. Thank you, Marlene
 

Answer:

Dear Marlene;

There's no one brand that's really preferable. The various brands make different types of sunglasses, and it's getting the right features that's important. Protection for UVA and UVB rays is critical. Polarized lenses can be quite helpful, especially on days with a lot of glare. Investing in a really good pair of sunglasses with optical grade lenses is the best way to go. Here's some more information:
