Answer:
Full Question:
I'm a 17-year-old girl that has migraine headaches every day if not every day then 6 out of 7 times a week. I have been diagnosed with migraine tension headaches but Midrin and Atenolol for my migraines but they have just make them worse. I've tried over-the-counter meds but they have also made them worse. My symptoms are dizziness, fainting, black outs, nauseated, and a whole lot of pain in the head. I have glasses but I've just got them and its not from that, well that's what my doctor has told me. Its very hard to go to school and learn anything with these headaches and would like to know if there is any way possible to decrease them I'm not asking for you to make them disappear because that's most likely impossible. But please help me out I cry every night from the pain. I've lost pounds after pounds from being afraid to eat or from vomiting. I've lost sleep from them and have been on meds for sleep. Thank you for your time and I hope and pray that you can help me out, Thank you again. Patricia.
Answer:
Dear Patricia;
You need to talk to your parents about this, and if your doctor can't help you more than he has, get your parents to take you to a specialist. What you're describing is very severe, and there are so many treatments available today that you simply do NOT have to live that way. It's impossible for us to suggest specific treatments online. That has to be done by a doctor who has seen you in person and examined you. If you're taking medications, even over-the-counter medications, daily for the pain, that could be making things worse by causing rebound headaches. Please, Patricia. Talk to your parents about this now.
Good luck,
Teri Robert and John Claude Krusz
