Question: Stadol... addiction... Safe dosage?
Answer:
Full Question:
I have been a migraine-sufferer since 1994. I have tried Imitrex and Maxalt + other migraine meds and have had mild to scary reactions with each (Imitrex was the scary one.) Is there any new or homeopathic remedies I could try at the onset of a migraine? Thanks, Christian.
Answer:
Dear Christian;
Most of the homeopathic preparations are more for Migraine prevention than acute Migraine treatment, but there are a couple of things that might help you:
- Some people have had success with aromatherapy for mild to moderate
Migraines. My personal experience has been that, although it doesn't relieve
my Migraines, it does help me relax and deal with the Migraine. See:
-
Aromatherapy As a Complementary Therapy
From the plants ancient cultures used for healing come essential oils to be used for physical and psychological treatment by aromatherapy. Excellent for relaxing, and a good complementary headache/migraine treatment for some. Peppermint, lavender, jasmine to relax and help relieve your pain.

Aromatherapy As a Complementary Therapy
- I've had some success with a new over-the-counter preparation called GelStat Migraine, which is a sublingual preparation containing feverfew and ginger. I'll be reviewing it on our site soon. In the meantime, you can find information at www.gelstat.com.
- This isn't exactly a homeopathic remedy, but it works for some people.
Take a look at:
- Orgasm & Headaches/Migraine
We've all heard the old joke, "Not tonight, dear. I have a headache." Right? Surprisingly enough, for some people, there definitely is a correlation between sexual activity and headache or migraine. Is that correlation good or bad?
