1) The EEG that the hospital did, indicated that I had a "Migraine Compatible Brain", but no-one would explain the term. My gp guessed it meant a brain that has a tendency to get migraines. What is your understanding on this? Is the current understanding of migraines that the blood vessels dilate, causing the surrounding nerves to get irritated and they stay irritated even after the blood vessels constrict back to normal. It is the irritated nerves cause the migraine. Is this correct? Bob.

6) I have had migraines at least twice a month (hormonal) on the left side of my head since about 1992. In the last couple of months I have begun having nosebleeds only on the left side of my nose. Is there any connection or should I be concerned about nosebleeds starting at 36 years of age? I took Imitrex for about 6 years until I realized that I was taking them more and more often because of rebound headaches. Thank you for any help. K.

7) My doctor has diagnosed me with a severe migraine condition. He has prescribed Pizotifen as a preventative and Imigran to treat migraine attacks. Despite the Pizotifen (and other preventative drugs the doctor has tried such as beta blockers and Epilim), the pattern for the last year or so has been 3-4-5 days free of headaches followed by 3-4-5 days of headaches. Using the Imigran at an early stage I am able to control these headaches and lead a fairly normal life... can I go on indefinitely taking Imigran at a rate of about 1 per 2 days, without long term harmful effects.?...

I've only had 3 in my life, but all 3 have been begun with this weird trapezoidal shape w/prism like colors, ALL colors, you name them, I can see them. Then slowly vision fades in the outer right side until the colors cover just about the entire outside vision. And then just like that the colors and shapes are gone and within 35 to 50 min, WHAM, the pain starts...
