1) I have had a daily headache now for 2 years...I have seen a neurologist had CT done had blood work....no one seems to have an answer and nothing seems to help. Elavil makes me too sluggish in the morning and does not seem to do anything for the headache. It is a dull pain across my forehead (like a tight band) I wake up every morning and it lasts all day. I am sick in tired of being sick and tired all the time....Can you please help me and point me in the right direction. Lisa.

4) ...after migraine attacks, is it possible to have permanent damage done to the brain? The reason I ask is sometimes after an attack I feel confused for days and just not right. I don't feel like my self, not as sharp, and visually things are difficult too....

5) My sister has suffered from chronic migraines for a few years now. I cannot remember when she had a completely pain free day. It really got worse when she became pregnant. I thought after she delivered the baby that the migraines might lessen.... She recently had her first grand mal seizure almost 2 weeks ago after suffering from a severe migraine the night before. She had taken Imitrex (which makes her headaches worse) and Excedrin the night this migraine came on... Nothing has helped. She has not been to a migraine clinic so far. Should this be our next step after all of these other tests?...

6) Are there any diagnostic tests to determine whether one suffers from migraine headaches? Gail.

7) I recently learned that people who suffer from frequent migraine headaches may have brain lesions caused by oxygen starvation of the brain (I assume during the peak of the migraine pain). An article published last January on the Journal of the American Association discussed these lesions. In order to find out if a person has such lesions, I imagine that only MRI tests can be useful. If yes, is MRI with contrast necessary? If not, are there other tests that could detect such lesions? Thank you, Sonia.

8) Our son was prescribed Vicodin for migraine headaches and has been on that drug for almost a year and now he has rebound headaches. If he stops the Vicodin which is not working for him, when can we expect the rebound headaches to stop.

9) I'm 33 and have suffered from migraines since adolescence. The attacks have increased dramatically in severity and length over the past few years. I normally experience a 4-5 day severe attack each month coinciding with my menstrual cycle. I have tried various prophylactic and abortive medications over the years without much success... My primary care physicians are wonderful but are also running out of options.. where else can I turn for help that won't take many more months or years to make progress?...

10) I have had a constant, low-grade dull headache around the eyes since contracting mononucleosis over 4 years ago. The eyes feel achy, heavy and sore (though they look normal) and the eye muscles feel tight particularly when rotating the eyeballs. This feeling never goes away and is wearing me down. It is not a rebound headache, since I don't take anything for it... Could the Epstein Barr virus have triggered something that set this off? And if so what can I do about it? Many thanks, Susan.
