2) My son is now 15-years-old and
has suffered from migraine headaches since he is 5-years-old. He has seen
numerous pediatric neurologists and over the years had 2 CAT scans. He took
Depakote which helped for awhile but then stopped. Last year he saw another
headache specialist he prescribed Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) but that too did not
lessen the frequency of his headaches. He usually has one to two major headaches
a week and misses so much school and his life!... Is there any hope for finding
a way to lessen these terrible outbreaks?... Mimi.

3) I am a 34-year-old woman. I
have been getting Migraines since I was five-years-old. I have recently been
told that passing out from Migraine pain is not normal. I get violently nauseous
when I have a migraine and the pain from throwing up is what usually makes me
pass out, usually right beside the toilet. I am wondering if anyone else out
there has ever experienced this. cheers, HJG/Canada.

4) I have suffered from migraine
with aura since being 17... My question is more to do with the aura which I get.
It usually lasts for 20-45 minutes - during which time I cannot function because
I feel clumsy and cannot see. I get very tearful. I then start to feel sick as
the aura clears and I get a mild headache over one eye which lasts all day...

5) I was diagnosed with migraines
several years ago. Occasionally, when I have a bad one if I eat chocolate or
sugar the headache does not go away, it seem to ease up. Sometimes drinking a
Dr. Pepper will also help. I have also been diagnosed with tinnitus. I have not
been diagnosed with diabetes although one of my grandparents had it. My question
has multiple parts...

6) I've had migraines for many
years. Within the past few years I've been experiencing a lot of pain in my face
(which appears to be in the sinus area) along with the usual pain in my left
temple. The ENT specialist seems to think that it isn't sinus related and is
just part of a severe migraine. Is this possible? The pain in my face is so
severe that I put ice packs on it to numb it and take pain medication. This
barely takes the pain away. Please tell me what you think. Thank you!

7) For the past 4 or 5 months I
have noticed that a headache lasting for 4 to 5 days develops either a few days
before or during my period. The ache is concentrated mainly around my eyes and
temple and last for days. I also seem to develop "dark circles" around my eyes
at this time as well. I have tried taking pain killers but nothing seems to ease
the discomfort. I know that I suffer from low blood pressure and I am slightly
anemic, can these headaches be related to my low blood pressure and anemia? Can
you please advise me on how to proceed? LB.

8) I just saw a new doctor
regarding my migraines. He insist that I have sinusitis and wants to put me on
two different antibiotics for this. He thinks it will cure my migraines. The
problem is is that I do not have any symptoms of a sinus infection so I do not
feel comfortable taking two antibiotics at the same time for two weeks. No other
doctor has ever said anything to me about sinuses. I just wanted to see what you
thought and if you have heard of other physicians doing this treatment for
migraines. Thank you for your time. Clifford.

9) My partner has suffered from
chronic migraine for 15 years now since her early 30s. After discontinuing HRT
for menopause as it gave her even more migraines she is wanting to take
magnesium and 5-HTP. She is looking to take 250mg of magnesium on a morning and
50mg of 5-HTP on an evening before going to bed. She will keep Naramig (Amerge)
for acute relief only. Is this a good regime as I would not want to see her
suffer any more or have any side effects. Thank you, Mr. N. Faulkner

10) I've been told about using
Topamax for treating migraines, is this a good/effective treatment? Is it
something prescribed often? Is it a first line of treatment, or only after other
treatments have failed? Amy.
