1) My daughter is 15 years old and
was just recently diagnosed with migraines. She woke up with a stabbing shooting
pain that only lasted a few minutes in the left side of her temple. She then
proceed to become dizzy, loss all visual tracking, have difficulty speaking and
loss the use of her left side. All the symptoms of a stroke. We took her to the
emergency department and they said she had a migraine and sent us on our way...
Thanks, Liz.

2) My son has recently developed
his first "tension headache". It has lasted 2 weeks. The physicians in the ER,
where he has gone 3 times in those 2 weeks, did a CAT scan and a spinal
tap...both came back negative. My son thinks he is having a "melt down"...it is
the last week of his college career at U of Michigan. He can't take his exams...

3) I recently heard about someone
having headaches with accompanying facial bruising under the chin and between
the eyes. I had never heard of this before and wondered what might cause such an
occurrence. Thank you, Lisa.

who has suffered from migraines for the last year and a half The last six weeks

5) My 3 1/2 year old son was in a
car accident. He was in his car seat, but our car rear ended somebody else. We
were going 30MPH; as a result, he hit his forehead hard on the passenger seat in
front of him, which left a huge bump on the left side of his forehead... Why Im
worried is because my son before this accident already has slow milination but
within normal range, he also had congenital nystagmus in both eyes and is near
sited in his right eye. Because of the car accident, should I be worried about
any of these conditions getting worse?... Concerned mother!!

6) I have had migraine headaches
on and off for the last 20 years. Lately (almost daily) they have been quite bad
starting in lower part of my head (in the back almost to my neck) after sleep
and moving throughout my head as the day goes on... My doctor is prescribing
Trileptal starting at 150mg for a week and then moving to 300mg... Russell.

7) I've had migraines all my life,
basically since I was 5 years old. I've been on Imitrex, Zomig, and finally
Maxalt which works better than anything I've tried to stop an attack when it
begins... I've been to a neurologist specializing in migraines. He's put me at
least 6 different preventative medications from anti-depressants to beta
blockers... When I went off the medication the migraines would stop... Jim.

8) I have had migraine headaches
since 1991. I still have not figured out my triggers. In the past year I have
tried Verapamil and Propranolol for preventative drugs. They did not help. My
Doctor would like me to try Zonegran. I get 1-2 migraines per week. Do you know
if Zonegran has been an effective preventative drug for migraines? Would there
be a different drug you can recommend? Jennifer

9) ...I was diagnosed with
migraines over 4 years ago even though I dont get the aura, light, sound or
nausea sensitivity. My headaches are frequent (several times a month, sometimes
several days in a row for weeks). they are more often on sided and quite
painful... Imitrex often works for me, but not all the time (about 75-80%
success rate if caught early). While it might not be a real migraine; my
neurologist (one of the most renowned headache docs in NYC) calls it one
nonetheless... Regards, Karen.

10) My 16 year old daughter has
had occasional migraines for about 2 years. In the last 3 months they have
gotten more frequent to the point where they are almost daily. She cries because
she is missing school and is in so much pain. We had a visit to the neurologist.
He basically said she can't be having daily migraines because they don't work
that way... Kathi
