1) ...there was burning sensations and sharp pain that would suddenly come about on different areas of my head. The first time I got one I seriously thought I was having a stroke... What would cause the brain's nerves to misfire? I was in a car wreck in '79', and had a small blood clot that was dissolved by medication and did have some swelling in the back of my head... Tina.

2) I have had a history of migraine headaches for most of my life, maybe 2 or 3 times per year, lasting 3 to 4 days... for the past couple of days, I have had the exact same migraine pain in my "leg". Is it possible to suffer migraines in other parts of the body besides the head?... Don.

4) ...Sometimes I get migraines that just hurt so much that I can't keep my eyes open. It started about 2 years ago. Whenever I would have a busy day by 5pm I would have a headache that would turn into a migraine by 7pm... I obviously understand that these migraines are not normal, and I was wondering what could it be and what do I need to do? Thank you, Katie.

5) My husband has tried all of the classes of drugs to find relief from migraines. He finally found Relpax. This worked great, but he began having rebound headaches... headache specialist who prescribed Methergine. The doctor said that Methergine was very similar to Relpax, but you could take it every day without the danger of rebound headaches... she said that he would have to take a break from using it after 6 months because it can cause vessels to harden. Can you explain this to me?... Meg.

6) I was recently diagnosed with occipital migraines.... He put me on Depakote ER 500 mg once daily. I took one pill and it stopped my migraine but it caused a bad side effect. I had to go to the ER because it caused a drug induced akathesia, which is an involuntary movement disorder. The doctor there told me to stop the medication that I could not take the medication at all and to call my doctor immediately. I called and he only lowered the dose to 250 mg per day. I don't know who to believe... Tami.

8) Is brief pain lasting only seconds considered a headache? ... my 9yr old son just told me that he gets a pain on one spot on his head that hurts and then heats up lasting seconds. When he gets this pain he said he gets a funny tingly feeling on his tongue... Should I be very concerned?

9) I have been treated for migraines since childhood. My current med is Zomig, which is very effective. My husband and I would like to start a family. I understand that Zomig, as well as other drugs in its family, are considered Class C meds... how long does it take for the body to purge this medication? Do you suggest waiting a few months after Zomig has been taken to begin trying to conceive?... Angie B.

10) ...My question is this. Prior to getting any of these episodes of numbness etc, and the reason why I went to the neurologist in the fist place, was that I was, and continue to see sparks of light in my field of vision... The sparks vary enormously and occur seemingly randomly, sometimes none in a day, but some times 20 in a day or more... Is this something that needs further investigation? ... Becky.
