|
The National Headache Foundation (NHF), in cooperation with Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, Inc. have announced that entries are being accepted for the fourth Migraine Masterpieces national art contest and exhibition. This year's theme is "My Life With Migraine.
Migraine Masterpieces is open to professional and amateur artists diagnosed with Migraine disease. Entries may include painting, drawing, print photography or computer-generated art, and must be received by May 23, 2003.
Suzanne Simons, Executive Director of the NHF stated:
"Migraine ... can adversely affect the daily lives of those that suffer and can cause them to miss out on personal and professional experiences. We hope that Migraine Masterpieces will allow sufferers to share their individual experiences through their artistic contributions to increase awareness of this disease.
The Migraine Masterpieces exhibition will feature the top 25 entries, and will be held in Chicago the week of July 21, 2003. This is the fourth Migraine Masterpieces contest. The 2001 contest drew more than 200 entries. Tiffany Slaybaugh of Knoxville, Tennessee, the First Place winner in 2001 said:
Winning the Migraine Masterpieces competition was a great honor, but the greatest reward was the wealth of new knowledge I left the competition with. Everyone I met and had the opportunity to work with at the NHF was extremely supportive and wonderful. It was enlightening and inspiring to see that so many others felt the same.
