| Dr. Robert Ryan is
executive director of both the Ryan Headache Center and of
Mercy Health Research in St. Louis, Mo. He is nationally recognized for his work in the clinical research of new drugs for the treatment of headache. He has conducted clinical research on each of the new migraine abortive agents, the triptans, and has published on each of these drugs. To date, he has published more than 50 papers and formally presented at more than 60 national meetings. Dr. Ryan currently serves on the advisory board for five of the pharmaceutical companies involved in headache research. He also serves on the speaker’s bureau for companies that currently have new migraine abortive medications in the triptan class. Dr. Ryan is a member of several organizations, including the American Headache Society, the International Headache Society and the National Headache Foundation. He is the former secretary of the American Headache Society and recently completed a term as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Headache Foundation. He completed his undergraduate and medical school studies at St. Louis University and then completed his specialty training at The Mayo Clinic. |
