QUESTION:

Hi , I am a 36-year-old female. I was in a car accident 6 months ago my head hit the windshield and I have had severe to moderate headaches ever since then I never suffered form headaches like this before the car accident. I also suffered from posterior vitreous detachment of my right eye I still have floaters and a shadow when I look through this eye, is it possible that this is what is causing my headaches? for 6 mos. my doctor and eye doctor have just blew this question off.

REPLY:
Dear 36-year-old:
You almost certainly have post-concussional headaches, which often behave like migraines. I doubt that the vitreous detachment is the sole cause of your headaches. Seek a headache specialist, particularly someone who is well versed in traumatic brain injury treatment.
