Memorial to Abi, Migrainous Stroke Victim
Abi Smith was a member of our "headache family." On November 12, 2001, at the age of 21, Abi lost her life to a migrainous stroke. Her last request of me was to educate people about Migraine to try to prevent this happening to others. Since education is a primary focus of MAGNUM, the National Migraine Association, I have made arrangements for donations to honor Abi.

ACHE The American Council for Headache Education Best of the Net
ACHE is a nonprofit patient-health professional partnership dedicated to advancing the treatment and management of headache and to raising the public awareness of headache as a valid, biologically based illness.

M.A.G.N.U.M. The National Migraine Association Best of the Net
MAGNUM was created to bring public awareness utilizing the electronic, print and artistic mediums, to the fact that Migraine is a true biologic neurological disease, to assist Migraine sufferers, their families, and coworkers, and to help improve the quality of life of Migraine sufferers worldwide.

The National Headache Foundation (NHF) Best of the Net
The goals of the NHF are: to educate the public to the fact that headaches are a legitimate biological disease and sufferers should receive understanding and continuity of care; to promote research into potential headache causes and treatments; and to serve as an information resource to sufferers, their families and healthcare providers.

American Chronic Pain Association
The American Chronic Pain Association (ACPA) is a non-profit, tax exempt organization with more than 400 chapters in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, India, Jordan, and Russia. Since 1980, they have provided a support system for people with chronic pain through education in pain management skills and self-help group activities.

American Pain Foundation
Founded in 1997, the American Pain Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization serving people with pain through information, education and advocacy. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people with pain by raising public awareness, providing practical information, promoting research, and advocating to remove barriers and increase access to effective pain management.

Center for Patient Advocacy Best of the Net
The Center for Patient Advocacy is at the forefront of the battle to ensure that patients have timely access to the highest quality health care in the world. Fueled by the strength of a diverse, nationwide, grassroots coalition that is constantly growing, the Center has established a strong grassroots presence on Capitol Hill to advocate for the rights of patients.

Migraine Action Association
The Migraine Action Association (formerly the British Migraine Association) is a registered charity with over 17,000 members. Bridgingthe gap between the Migraine sufferer and the medical world by providing information on all aspects of the condition and its management. Committed to raising general awareness of the condition and a recognised source of information.

North American Chronic Pain Association of Canada
The North American Chronic Pain Association, NACPAC, is a national association of self-help groups dedicated to providing support to people in chronic pain and to giving them assistance in living their lives to the fullest. NACPAC is a volunteer, non-profit, Canadian charitable organization that was founded in 1986 by the late Dianne Kent.

O.U.C.H. Organization for Understanding Cluster Headaches Best of the Net
O.U.C.H. is an international, not-for-profit advocacy group dedicated to providing support and information to people around the world who suffer from the poorly understood affliction called Cluster Headaches, which has been described by one of its leading researchers as "probably the worst pain that humans experience", and to increasing public awareness of and research into Cluster Headaches.
