Dear Michelle,
There's no way possible that you've tried everything. There are different
medications coming into use as Migraine preventives quite frequently.
Additionally, there are so many combinations of preventive meds that can be
tried that it would literally take many years to have tried everything.
You may be getting plenty of sleep, but still may want to investigate a sleep
study to be sure that it's good quality sleep. As for stress, stress isn't
exactly a Migraine trigger; it's an exacerbating factor in Migraine. What that
means is that you have other triggers that aren't generally strong enough to
trigger a Migraine, but when your body is stressed, your threshold to triggers
is reduced and those triggers can bring on a Migraine. So, you need to be
keeping a diary and investigating other triggers.
The best thing you can do for yourself is get to a good specialist. Some of the
best are right there in Stamford, Connecticut, at the New England Center for
Headache.
Please let us know yow you're doing,
Teri Robert
Dear Michelle:
I would strongly agree with Teri. Look to the New England Center for Headache
run by my old friends Drs Alan Rapoport, Fred Sheftell and Stuart Tepper. Tell
then we sent ya! They are in Stamford. They are worth it.
Good luck,
John Claude Krusz
