Ask the Clinician

Question: Should I be concerned, will "small left retro cerebellar arachnoid cyst"grow?...

Answer:

Dear Debra:
Obviously your scan results are worrisome to you. Arachnoid cysts most often do not grow or change; however, repeat scans every so often might be useful to prove that up. That cyst may not even be related to your lifelong headaches. Many of your other symptoms may also be unrelated to headaches, per se, given your medical history. My strongest suggestion is to seek out a headache specialist for that set of problems. Other medical issues may need to be presented to your internist.
Good luck,
John Claude Krusz
