Ask the Clinician

Question: ...family doc continued prescription ... daily Migraines ... see a neurologist?

Answer:

Absolutely! There's no reason for you to suffer from daily Migraines. There are many, many medications and combinations of medications that can be effective for Migraine prevention. Also, even though you had a problem with Zomig, that doesn't necessarily eliminate all the triptan medications. You may be able to use some of the others. Some doctors will suggest trying your first dose of a new triptan in their office so you can be observed for side effects. Definitely get yourself to a good neurologist or a Migraine specialist.
