Ask the Clinician

Question: Has coffee been shown to be a Migraine tirgger?

Answer:

Dear Coffee Drinker,

Nothing has shown coffee to be a trigger, but caffeine has been found to be a trigger for some people. Of course, it's possible that there's something else about coffee that makes it a trigger for you. If you find that tea, cola, and other caffeinated drinks also trigger Migraines, it's the caffeine. If not, coffee may well be a personal trigger for you.

Good luck,
Teri Robert
