Question: Three-month headache...tension headache? Migraine?

Our question for you: Why have you dealt with this for so long withOUT seeing a
neurologist?
We really can't diagnose via the Internet, and you haven't told us what
diagnosis your current doctors has given you. Certainly, your symptoms could be
those of tension headaches, but there are many other conditions that could
produce the same symptoms, so going to a neurologist who will reveiw your
medical history and symptoms and conduct a complete examination is vital to
getting a diagnosis and proper treatment.
Please keep in mind that with either tension headaches or Migraine disease, all
of the tests you mention WILL be negative. You mention that you don't have a
history of headache. Is there any history of headache or Migraine disease in
your family? If you don't know, find out before your neurologist appointment
because that's very relevant and is a question you will be asked.
If your neurologist can't help you, there's a link below to our directory of

headache and Migraine. Thus, they have far more experience and training than
general practice neruologists. Many people find that going to a specilaist
affords them the best chance of accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
