Ask the Clinician

Question: Looking for information on dysrhythmic Migraines.

Answer:

Dear Angie:

I'm not sure what your diagnosis is, as I've never heard of dysrhythmic?? migraines. Does this refer to any EEG information in conjunction with treatment of your seizures? Just about all of the anticonvulsants have also been used successfully to treat migraines; these medications don't have any effects on blood vessels. It sounds like seeking out a local headache specialist to coordinate with your other physician might be helpful to you.

Good luck,
Teri Robert
