Question: triptans...mild chest tightness...advised to not take them again...risk of...

Answer:

Dear Jen:
You story is quite common to many migraineurs. Mild chest tightness is not a contraindication for triptans. You didn't mention if they helped you migraines. Very long-acting triptans such as frovatriptan can be used for multi-day menstrual migraines. Pulmonary hypertension is not any sort of side effect of this group of medications. If your migraines are more than 2 per week and are disabling, you would do best to seek out a headache specialist in your area. There are many new agents with which to suppress the headache pattern.
Good luck,
John Claude Krusz
