Ask the Clinician

Question: transformed migraine...much trouble with tinnitus and vertigo...doctors shrug...

Answer:

Dear Julie:
Vertigo and tinnitus may be related to a migraine, or they may be separate disturbing symptoms. Sometimes, these symptoms outlast the migraines themselves. Tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, had no good treatments unfortunately. Vertigo can sometimes be treated by a transdermal scopolamine patch. Check with your doctors.
Good Luck,
John Claude Krusz
