  • 1) I am an 18 year-old-female, and have been suffering from migraines since I was about 12. Over the years I got used to getting migraines, which usually lasted for about a week, and I wouldn't get one maybe for a couple of months at a time. There have been times where I got migraines that went on for about 2 weeks, and medication had very little effect. However, recently for about 2-3 months now, I have been getting blurry vision along with my migraines. Is this normal? (for a migraine sufferer), and even blurry vision without the migraine. My GP told me I would grow out of my migraines, but I don't think I will. It has been effecting me a lot, especially in exams as I find that I can not read the questions! I've been to an optometrist and a specialist, so anything being wrong with my eyes is totally ruled out. What do you think could be the problem? What should I do? Thank you, Yasemin.

  • 2) Could you please tell me which migraine medication is safe during pregnancy? I use Maxalt and it really helps. I am planning to have a baby within a year but I do not know what to do with my migraine attacks. Thank you, Basak.

  • 3) I am truly wondering what is going on with me and these headaches. I am not currently diagnosed with anything except headaches and this has been going on times five weeks. First it was the high blood pressure, then these headaches came after I first took some anti-inflammatories. From then on it has been a down hill fight with this thing. I have had several meds which seem to do nothing. I am learning about the stiff neck that I have notice with these headaches and I must admit I am getting a little frustrated cause no one seems to know what is going on. Trying to escape the pain, Dale.

  • 4) I am a 36-year-old female who has been plagued with migraines since I was 12-years-old. I had a complete hysterectomy 1994. I have been and presently on HRT therapy. I have been seeing a neurologist for over a year now. He has prescribed many prophylactic regimes. I am presently taking 1500 mg of Depakote, a 40/30 titration of Prednisone 10 mg and for migraine pain Frova and Compazine. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be working. I suffer from a migraine everyday. I am at wits end. I also have a very strong family history of headaches, both parents; my mother has migraines, and my father has cluster headaches. What if anything can I do? I have also developed fibromyalgia in my neck for which I am being treated with Botox and trigger point injection. Help!!! Thank you, Michele.

  • 5) I just read the story on the teenager that died from Tylenol overdose. Did she take 20 at a time or off and on during the day? I am all the time popping Tylenol sometimes 3 every 4 hours for my migraines. Is that dangerous? Amanda.

  • 6) Without a preventative, I have about 4 pain-free days in a month. I also have Bipolar affective disorder which has made finding a good preventative very difficult as if it works (Elavil) it messes up my Bipolar. I have tried all of these so far and am about to try Atacand. But Atacand is my last medication and I would like something else as a backup. List so far: Depakote, Neurotin, Lamictal, Tegretol, Topamax (couldn't get past 50mg) Elavil, Corgard, Verapamil, Lisinopril, Bextra, Propanolol, Vioxx (plus all other versions of anti-inflammatories - took the strongest ones out there, they worked but ripped a hole in my gut) Can't take Zonegran - not in my country yet. Can't take any antidepressants such as Paxil Celexa etc, messes with my Bipolar. So we are left with Atacand being the last hope. Is there anything else I can try?
