  • 1) I have headaches at 4 or 5 a.m. every day. Heat & Advil relieves me most of the time. I have been to two Neurologists, and been prescribe Neurotin, Topamax, and Indocin. Took me off my hormones for 2 wks. Tried Valium and numerous pain killers. I have been to an Orthodontist, ruled out TMJ. Took Tegretol and no help. I am at my wits end as to the reason for my headaches at that time of morning. I can get up and the headache goes away. Thank you! Kathleen.

  • 2) I was in the hospital with a severe migraine the other night and was losing feeling in different parts of my body before the actual headache set in. For example, the fingers of my right hand went numb, when feeling came back in them, my lips went numb, then it switched to my tongue, then right cheek, then left cheek, then scalp, then left arm. What caused this? Also, this was my first migraine in almost seven years. When I was in eighth grade, I suffered from them quite often, then -- nothing. Was this an isolated occurrence, or should I watch out for more (I am almost 21 now)? Thank You, Trevor.

  • 3) Dear Doctor, I have been taking Topamax for migraine headaches for eight months. Which have helped my headaches dramatically. But I am wondering if Topamax can cause severe hair loss I have had all the proper blood tests and have all come back normal. I have stopped taking Topamax because I am afraid there is a link. I am a 41-year-old woman and have a daughter getting married. I am afraid I will be bald. If there is a link how long does it take to get out of your system? Thank you I am desperate for help. Tresa.

  • 4) I know my headaches are due to my periods and when I ovulate. My GYN doesn't think that this is reason enough to at least give me a partial hysterectomy. I am 39 yrs old and am going through peri-menapause and I had a tubal done years ago. I cannot afford my migraine medicine all the time and there are times when it doesn't work because my body gets immune. Do you think a second opinion is needed? Or do you have any suggestions? Thanks, Anne.
