  • 1)  I have been experiencing pains in my head (daily) for the past four months. The pains started in one area but have now progressed to my entire head. They can be at the base of my head, just behind or above the ear, the top of my head, either side of my head, around my temple, etc. It is a quick stabbing pain that can last 1 minute or become a very dull (but intense) pain that lasts up to 1/2 hour. No throbbing or additional pain with movement. No sensitivity to light or sound. Laying down quietly does not help. The pains come and go all day in different areas of my head. Along with the pains I experience double vision and horrible nausea - no vomiting. I also experience tenderness and sensitivity of my head. I have had an MRI and a CT Scan which came out normal. I have been on the following medications: Axert, Nebumetone, Arthrotec, Metoclopramide, Ketorolac, Inderal, Methylprednisolone, Meclizine, Indomethacin, Verapamil, Neurontin, also had Percocet and Ultracet for pain. Nothing seems to work! The doctor keeps telling me it's migraine's yet it doesn't seem typical of a migraine. Have you heard of something like this before? Thanks for you help! Liz.

  • 2) This may be an off the wall question but it is affecting me and would love an answer if possible. I do gat what I think is sinus headaches. the norm. pressure and pain in forehead and whenever I bend over it is worse. but when I have sex and am close to an orgasm my head starts hurting so bad I have to stop. it actually feels like it is burning. it does seem to happen more when my sinuses are bothering me but not all the time. I have tried to ignore it but then it is unbearable and usually end up crying from the pain. all I can do is hold my head till the pain subsides some. any info would be appreciated. Thank you, Kathy. I am 46 yrs old.

  • 3) My husband has been having stroke-like symptoms followed by a migraine for over thirty years. He first has vision problems, then numbness and tingling on one side of his body. Many times his speech and thinking are effected. He now has been diagnosed with mild dementia. His MRI shows white matter lesions on his brain. He is considered disabled and unable to do his computer work any more. Three of our seven children are showing these early symptoms of this same type of migraine. Please advise me on what to do. My husband also had a stoke at age 45. The stroke did not leave any permanent physical damage. The Neurologist at the time, suggested that the stroke may be related to his migraine problem. But none of the docs we have seen have ever said that the migraines are the cause of the dementia, but I believe that they are as I have watched this slow progression for a long time. Every time he has a migraine he seems to lose some mental function until after so many years he has permanent cognitive impairment. I am hoping to get some answers so that I can at least help my children. Thank you. Linda.

  • 4) Has drinking coffee even been shown to cause migraine headaches. I have been a coffee drinker for years, but the last two years I have been bothered by migraines and they appear to start after I have had coffee, which I have the headache, hotflash feelings, then vomiting. Please advise. Thanks.
