6) I have been suffering from migraines since the age of 13. I am now 35. They are so debilitating that I have to leave work. The migraines can occur 3-4 times a week and last for 2-3 days. I am taking Zoloft, Singulair, Nasonex, and when needed, Imitrex. I also have high blood pressure. Recently, I went to my doctor and she gave me a needle. I felt no relief. She suggested that I see a neurologist because there is supposed to be a new medicine that may help me. A friend told me that she heard of a "patch" for migraines. Is this true? Do you have any suggestions that may stop the severe migraine pain? Rita.

7) Hi. I have been diagnosed with migraines 25 years ago. (I am 33 ). It runs in our family and I have learned how to deal with all the triggers and have managed as best as I could. I had a MRI years ago and all was well. Now I have experienced a new type of headache- right on top of my head. I have never had one of these before and it's been there for three days now. My question is should I consider another MRI? Should I be concerned that this could be something more serious? (brain tumors, etc.) Are there signs to look for additional help and not just assume it's the usual head pain. Please advise. Thanks. Carol .

8) I was diagnosed with classic migraines 2 years ago. My neurologist put me on 60mg of Inderal which seemed to control the migraines. Last October 2003, he told me to go off the drug. I reluctantly weaned myself off the drug and was headache free until the beginning of January 2004. Since then, I have had migraines almost every day to the point that I can not function. I have been taking the Inderal every day for 10 days, but it is not helping. Should I continue to take the Inderal daily and wait for it to completely go through my system or should I be searching for a new drug? (I was told it takes approximately one month for the drug to completely take effect.) Thank you in advance for your help.

9) I have taken Imitrex and Zomig for several years now. I would like to know if any studies have been done to see if the triptan drugs have caused any long term effects, like damage to to blood vessels or increase in strokes? Thank you for your time. Sincere Regards, Karen.

10) I just found your web site and have been reading with a great deal of interest the different types of migraines. I get menstrual migraines and take Imitrex. However, over the past several years I get a migraine after having an intense workout. I read that these migraines are exertion migraines. Is there medication that can be prescribed by my doctor to prevent this type of migraine?
