  • 1) I have headaches on a daily basis, they are directly behind my ears on both sides. On some days they are so painful I want to cry. I have been to my family doctor who tells me that they are stress related. I work at a daycare but I have headaches even on my days off. My doctor has prescribed me numerous prescriptions for pain killers, they work on occasion but for the most part they don't work, and in addition I am afraid of getting addicted so I don't take them as often as prescribed. If you have any advise I would very much appreciate it. Sincerely, Zella.

  • 2) For the last 3 weeks, i have been suffering from headaches when I weightlift. This has never been a problem in the past. I eat healthy, drink plenty of water and properly warm up before I begin heavy lifting. What can be the causes of this? Is it from allergies? I never suffered from allergies before. Can you please help me? Thank you.

  • 3) My brother has been told by his doctor that he is suffering from migraines, he suffers from numbness, headaches and loss of speech. Is it normal to lose your speech too? As you can imagine I'm a bit worried, as he banged his head a few months ago while playing football. Thanks, Linda.

  • 4) I was diagnosed with Migraine Headaches about 6 months ago. Before I was diagnosed, I had lost 16 pounds, I guess from vomiting and just plain being sick quite often. I am 32 years old, married, with 2 children. I take Imitrex for my migraine attacks. (Usually having to do the spray because I wake up already in the vomiting stage of the attack.) My question to you is: I have had a few female related surgeries. I only have 1 ovary and tube left at the present. I have been keeping a journal of my headaches and have come to realize that the majority of them have came the day before my menstrual cycle starts. (Although I have had them at various days during the month too). I have not been to see my gynecologist since these have commenced. He has previously talked to me about getting a hysterectomy, but after reading various articles and such, I have seen that the migraines will get worse. How much truth is there to that statement? This has to be the worst disease for anyone to deal with both physically and emotionally. When these come on, it scares me very badly. (Which I think they do everyone who gets them). So much so, that I lay in bed and cry. I wish they would never come back again. I cant seem to control them. My period fluctuates so much, that I can not even judge when it will be here to avoid the attacks. I feel very helpless in this situation. I have missed several days and hours of work. They hit me early in the mornings, and like I said previously, as soon as my feet hit the floor, I am already vomiting, I get diarrhea, and my head hurts so very bad. The last dose of the nasal spray I took, which was just this past Monday, seemed to take longer to control the attack, and the right side of my face (from the bottom of my eye to the bottom of my cheek) became numb. I missed 2 hours of work, again, and when I finally could get up out of bed, I was very dizzy and disoriented. (Probably shouldn't have been driving, especially a half hour away from home.) I have one of those non-understanding bosses though. If you have any advise or you have any information helpful to my situation, please let me know. My doctor didn't have me come back since he told me that I have Migraines and put my on the Imitrex, and he had only ordered a CT scan, which thankfully came back normal. Thank you for your time, Dawn.
