1) I am a woman of 63 yrs and have had migraines for years. They have gotten much better since I got off of progesterone/estrogen and changed my eating lifestyle but I still get them every month or so. I have tried a lot of drugs and nothing works like the Imitrex shot that I took 10yr ago. They worked great but after awhile it lost it's effect. I would like to try some of the new triptans or even Imitrex again but I have been told that I am too old to take them. I am on atenolol 25mg & enalapril 2.5mg. I started the atenolol because of headaches when I was 50yr. My blood pressure now is well under control however. I am using but/apap/caf tab now to help with the pain but it does not allow me to lead a more normal life like Imitrex did. My family doctor says she doesn't know why I cannot take it but the neurologist says NO. Who can I believe!!! Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. Joyce.

2) My son just turned 4. About once a month he gets an aura, headache and fever for about 24 hrs. He is fatigued for about 2 days. I see nothing about fever and migraines. His always spikes to 104 and then has a low grade after the first 12 hours. What information can you give me about auras and fevers.

3) My migraines frequently occur right before an obligatory event......when there are expectations from people I love and care about . It is as if I worry about having one to the degree that it causes one. When the migraine is over I feel so guilty for letting people down........seems to fuel the fire for the next one. A hideous cycle. I may sound crazy, but am not. I think I've tried most migraine meds available. Preventative and otherwise. Sincerely, Marsha..

4) I have been experiencing debilitating headaches for about six years. At twenty-six, after my third child, I had to have a hysterectomy. I suffered with migraines before and after this procedure and another OB/GYN suggested I also have my ovaries out to control hormone levels to see if that might help. I did have the procedure done but it didn't seem to make much difference. I have been to several neurologists and have been put on about everything imaginable--from preventative meds to meds that control symptoms. Unfortunately, none of the triptans work for me. In fact, they seem to make the headache worse, which sounds crazy to me. When I get into a situation where I can no longer function (about every other month) I do get a very large shot of Nubain and Vistaril. Other than that, I try to manage the headaches with Fioricet. However, lately things are getting worse. I've always experienced numbness in my face with a migraine, but the numbness now extends down my arm and into my leg (depending on which side the headache is on). This really scares me but CAT scans and MRI's show nothing--of course. Also, the migraines are lasting longer and longer. The migraine affects every part of my life and makes my work (which I enjoy) difficult. During a bad day I have trouble speaking and making sense which upsets me. It affects my family and I'm just starting to feel stupid that I can't control this. I would be very grateful if you could suggest some choices I might have. Thank you for your time and willingness to answer questions. It appears from the website that many people are suffering. Amber.
