1) I used to have really bad migraines when I was younger. I am now in my late 50's and for the past 4 years I have been having spells that were first diagnosed as TIA's. Now they are calling them Migraine Phenomena. Do you have any information on this and what causes them. I had never heard of a migraine without any pain until now. These have never affected my eyes only my face, speech, shoulder, arm, rib cage and buttocks all on the right side. I would appreciate any information if you have any. The spells last about 30 minutes then go away. I have been on blood thinners, and now another Neurologist is giving me anti Seizure medicine, she thinks they may be a type of seizure. I am so confused can you help me or tell me where to look. Thank you, Dorothy.

2) I'm am a women of 44 years. I had a hysterectomy 1 year ago. My doctor has me on Elavil 100 mg. a day. Recently I've been getting migraine's every 2 weeks. My doctor says it's because I'm too high strung. I was wondering if these could be caused by menopause, since they kept my ovaries. They said I was just at the beginning of menopause. I usually get a shot of Vistaril and Demerol, but now my family doctor is beginning to think I'm a drug addict. I can't take allot of things because of family history of Glaucoma or I'm really intolerant of them and they make me sicker. Is their anything I can do to let my doctor believe me. I'm tired of taking pills.

3) My 23 year daughter is taking Topamax for her migraines. She has slowly worked up to 150 mg and is beginning to have positive results with few side effects. I have just discovered that she takes it all in one dose, which is contrary to everything I read. She says no one has said anything about taking it twice a day. She is being treated by a neurologist at a headache clinic. Is this a problem? Thanks so much for your help! Faye.

4) I have had what several doctors have identified as migraines since I was 6 yrs old (now 37). Every 14-18 weeks I begin having extreme amounts of sinus drainage down the back of my throat and feeling 'spacey' - can't think as quickly as normal. This continues for several days or perhaps a week and gradually gets worse until I wake up dizzy, & nauseous. At this point, I am completed bed-ridden for 2 days. The first day I generally vomit for 6-10 hours, followed by a day of complete exhaustion and dizziness. I can function by day three, but am still dizzy in the a.m. for about a week. I have yet to find a treatment that works and have tried just about everything. Have had CAT scans, MRIs - the gamut of testing, and have seen many doctors. Does this sound like anything you've heard of before? Is there any advice you can give me? Diane.
