SPECIAL NOTE: This week, I hope everyone will take the time to read the answers to the first two questions. It concerns me that questions such as those two are sent to us.

1) I am a 38 year-old-male. I have a stabbing headache on one side of my head. The pain is only for about 15 to 30 seconds. I have no pain in between, and they only occur every so often. Can you tell me what kind of headache this is, and what should I do?

2) I have a son who just turned 7. He has headaches every day, and they bring him down to where he will just lay down and not do anything. I give him medication and it takes a very long time before it ever starts to work. What should I do? I don't want it to be something serious. Should he go to the doctor or is this something he will outgrow? Hudson.

3) I am a 57 year old female in good physical condition and I drink lots of water. I go to a gym 4 days a week. Recently I began working with a trainer and he really pushes the weights. Last week after doing some bench presses, only 36 lbs., I suddenly got a terrible headache in the back of my head. I did not pass out and I could see O.K., but the pain was intense. After about 5 or 10 minutes, I put my head down between my knees and the pain, for the most part went away. Do you have any idea what caused this? I have signed up to work with him 2 days a week, but I am a bit nervous. Carol.

4) I have been having severe headaches ever since I have had my first child. I was given a spinal during childbirth. The headaches are very hard to get rid of. If I do not take pain killers as soon as I feel one coming on then it will hurt so bad that I can not function. I sometimes find relief in soaking my head in hot water and taking 1500 mg of acetaminophen. I was just wanting to know if the headaches were a result of the spinal or could something else be wrong. Sherry.

6) I am 53 years old, female, until last year never had a headache or anything other than minor ailments. I developed a severe long headache which resulted in loss of speech, right-sided weakness, droopy and running eye with spasms. Since then it has morphed into 10-15 episodes a day with severe running eyes (mostly on the right) severe twitching and spasms that force my right eye shut and my left eye to continue twitching. My speech is slurred and I resemble a stroke victim. I've been on Indocin which I got a jolt from and now doesn't work in any does, I take Tegretol and Indocin. My neurologist has tried everything and we just keep doing the same thing over with different doses. Any ideas? Thank you, leh.
