1) The last two weekends when I go out to clubs or bars the next day I have the worst headache that is without drinking. I went to an open air concert and had some people around me smoking...the next day I had the same headache. I found that the common thread there was the second hand smoking. I don't want to not go out but is there anything that can be done to help lessen the pain. Are there some things I can do prior to going out? Please help! Yadira.

2) I've been getting migraines now for about 13 years. They started when I was 25. In the past few years, I've witnessed a new experience with my migraines. When I feel one coming on, I take an Imitrex. Typically one or two Imitrex will kill the excruciating pain. However, shortly after my head starts to clear, my throat begins to hurt. In fact, my throat hurts so much, it feels like daggers are in my throat. This feeling can continue for the rest of the day. Is this a normal secondary reaction to the migraine? Have you heard of this? Any guidance you can give me would be very helpful. Thanks, Nicole.

3) I have suffered from migraines for over 25 years!! While I try to deny it, they have overshadowed my life. My migraines began when I began menstruating and now that I am pre-menopausal the migraines are the worse they have ever been. Two days prior to my cycle, to the week of my cycle have always been my most high-risk and severe migraine times. Now, my migraines are far more frequent lasting for 1-2 weeks and do not fit into the normal pattern. I take Fiorcet with Zomig to abort the migraines. Please help, I can not find any substantial information on Topamax as far as the treatment of migraines. I tried Topamax (25 mg per day) for the first time 1 1/2 month ago. It was life altering I had energy and no migraines!!! Now, I am back where I started. Was it a fluke or do I need to adjust my dosage? Does Topamax work? Can it be taken with my abortive medications when needed? Any recommendations of a medication which has proven to be effective for hormonal triggered migraines? Rita.

4) HELP! I am 41 years old and have been experiencing chronic headaches for 18 months. I was originally treated for sinus pain. Then I was referred to a neurologist in March 2002. Had an MRI which was negative. I was diagnosed with tension headaches. I tried an acupuncturist which didn't provide much relief. I've been taking Zanaflex for well over 6 months and the headaches are getting worse. I basically have headaches 24 hours a day/7 days a week. They are worse at night but bad in the am too. I was also told I have TMJ (I do clench my jaw) and got a nightguard but still no improvement. I went to a chiropractor and had an x-ray done. The x-ray showed that my spine was more straight than curved . The chiropractor said that this can be corrected but he can't necessarily confirm that this is the reason for my headaches. I've had massages because I do have neck and shoulder pain. I am at my wits end and can't take it anymore. By time 8 pm comes around I'm in so much pain. Even laying down hurts. (I even bought a tempurpedic pillow for sleeping) I'm spending a fortune in copayments and medication but getting no relief. I've tried taking Naproxen, Advil, Aleve, etc for pain but nothing helps. Are there any other steps I can take? Any other medical tests that can help determine the cause?

5) I have suffered from migraines for almost 30 years. The headaches are less severe, but I still get about 6 every month. I also get a migraine a couple of hours after a good workout or when I race (running). I feel fine then about 2 hours afterwards I start to feel the pain. I am a fairly good runner. I don't want to give up working out. Do you have any suggestions?
