  • 1) I am looking for information on how a hysterectomy would affect migraines. I have read, in several places, that there is no sure-fire way to be able to know what would happen to a person's migraines if she had a hysterectomy. However, my question is: Is there a way to simulate a hysterectomy through hormones, to see what the effect of a hysterectomy would be like? Thanks, Heather.

  • 2) I am being treated for transformed migraine. While the preventative meds and Maxalt are really helping, I am still having much trouble with tinnitus and some bouts of vertigo, sometimes with a headache, sometimes without. I am getting very different answers from doctors here - no one seems to know what to do about these symptoms other than to shrug their shoulders. Can you help? Thank you, Julie.

  • 3) I recently started getting blurry vision in my left eye off and on. Then a few days ago my left eye started going in and out of focus and felt completely out of control, it lasted for about three minutes. The optometrist says its probably Ocular Migraine, although I had no pain. I've never heard of this, can you tell me anything about it? -Gale.

  • 4) I hope you can help me. I have been having headaches only on the left side which affects the top of the left side and it is piercing pain and when I press hard on it I get relief. The headache continues down to the left inside of my eye, face and part of the neck but these parts don't necessarily hurt but I do feel a sensation. 3years ago I visited a neurologist when it was very painful and was sent for a CT scan and also two MR1 which all proved that there was nothing wrong. Since my headaches continued every day I was recommended to take Allegron 25mg 3 a night and this eventually helped with the headaches. Of late I was told that Allegron is off the marked and I have been put on Endep, which I have to take 75vg every night. I have tried many a times to reduce the dosage but have ended up with the headaches again. Can you please tell me: (a) whether I am masking the pain by taking these tablets (b) will I have to take these tablets for the rest of my life. There are also days that I still get pain on the left side of my head even though I keep taking the tablets but the pain is not severe as when I do not take it at all. Please help me with your advice. I still visit a Neurologist in the hospital I work in. Thanking you, Delreen.

  • 5) I have had Migraines ever since I was 6 . I am 33 now. My HA have gotten worse every since I turned 30. I was having 2 to 5 Migraines a week. I do not have insurance and my monthly bill for Zomig is more than my car payment. The Zomig takes care of the migraine in about 45 min, of taking it. I am so thankful that There is relief from that bad of pain. My Pharmacost told me about using a Beta Blocker. She said that it should help prevent the migraine and help save on the money . So my Doctor put me on three different med's they are.... Sarafem 20 mg every morning. for my PMDD...Inderal..120 mg every afternoon as my Beta Blocker... and amitriptyline 50 mg.. every night for I don't know why?? This is my 2nd week on them all. I can say that I have not taking a Zomig for the past week however I have started to get a starting of a headache.. So i took Excedrin in between the Sarafem and the Inderal and the headache went away.. I still have a touch of the PMDD.. and sometimes an uneasiness to me. can you comment on the med's that I am taking and the way that I am taking then And do you have any suggestion's for me. My med bill is not as much as just taking the Zomig but it is still high. Thank you for your time and answers . I will pray for you and this site. Your site is a blessing to me. God Bless you all. Staci.
